Pathways for Students and Recent Graduates
On December 27, President Obama issued an Executive Order on recruiting and hiring students and recent graduates into the federal government. The NIH is seeking to recruit highly motivated and talented individuals to fill entry level positions. Whether you are a current student or recent graduate, you can find a career opportunity at NIH. Whatever your current educational status, you can find a career at NIH.
The NIH Pathways Program offers 3 "paths" to Federal civilian employment:
Internship Program is for students in high school, college, trade school, vocational school, or other eligible educational programs.
Recent Graduates Program is for individuals who have graduated within the last 2 years from a qualifying higher educational program. Note: veterans who were precluded from participating in the Recent Graduates program due to their military obligation will retain their eligibility for 6 years after graduation.
Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program is if you have completed your Masters or other professional degree within the last two years, you are eligible to apply for the PMF Program. Candidates are assessed by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and apply to work at NIH after they are named a PMF Finalist. For more information about life as a PMF at NIH, visit our website.
